Still a few weeks ahead of normal, some local farmers are heading into the fields for harvesting. Washington County farmer Jim Cuddeback started harvesting on Monday, when last year he hadn’t started until the 25th.

Cuddeback says he’s harvested about 20 acres out of his 500 and shares that the majority of corn in his fields is still too wet.

He explains he’s been focusing on the plants that are about to fall over and the corn he planted first and didn’t have to replant.
