A local non-profit group that works to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism is announcing a special week highlighting the importance of an important document. Julie Beenblossom with the Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution says this week has been deemed Constitution Week by the United States Government.
he says this week was first established in 1955. Beenblossom notes the Constitution was formally signed on September 17, 1787 and the DAR urges all Americans to reflect about the American liberties often taken for granted and the historic price of liberty.
