Mid-Prairie Gears Up for Undefeated Tipton

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks play Tipton tonight in out of district play.

Tipton is 4-0 this year, and has a balanced offense with 478 yards through the air, eight touchdowns and just one interception.

They also have 805 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns.

The Golden Hawks have 629 yards on the ground and 10 touchdowns thanks to Eesaa Baylor’s running game.

Mid-Prairie will throw it as well, with 458 yards passing and three touchdowns on the year.

Head coach Pete Cavanagh talked about how Mid-Prairie has not seen Tipton in football for a few years, and the surprise of them being 4-0.

“We haven’t played them in football for a few years, of course their in our conference for basketball and other sports so we are somewhat familiar with the personell, but haven’t played them in football,” Cavanagh said. “When we originally saw Tipton on the schedule we thought, ‘Well this is a team that has struggled last year,’ but now here we are 4-0 halfway through the season.”
