The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will kick off the week with a volleyball match against Wilton tonight.

The Golden Hawks are 5-7 this season and have 165 kills, but 160 kill errors, giving them an efficiency of .009, but where their offense is low, their defense picks up with 303 digs and 54 totals blocks on the season.

Wilton is 7-14 with 275 kills, but almost double the game of Mid-Prairie. They have 323 digs and 68 blocks.

Golden Hawk head coach Melissa Stumpf says having a Monday game is not ideal, but the key to tonight’s game is focusing inward, not outward.

“[We need to] play aggressive and we came out kind of sluggish in our last game, so we’re trying to improve on that,” Stumpf said. “We’ll take it one game at a time and concentrate more on ourselves than our opponents.”

Mid-Prairie and Wilton will play tonight at 7:30 in Wellman.
