Even though is the last day of September, everyone has one extra day to pay the first half real estate and mobile home taxes.  Washington County Treasurer Jeffrey Garrett says the payments due are based off the January 2011 assessment.  This assessment covers July 1st of last year through June 30th of this year.

He adds payments can be made in person or deposited and must be paid by tomorrow.  Starting Tuesday, penalties and interest are attached the first of the month each month until they are paid.  Statement coupons must also be submitted with payment.

Payments can be put in the drop box at the Washington County Courthouse, mailed to the Washington County Treasurer or paid online here.
