US Senator Chuck Grassley disagrees with presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s stance on the state of the wind industry. According to Grassley, Romney thinks wind is a mature enough industry to be able to be successful on its own without the production tax credit.

Grassley says the tax credit extension is in the tax bill that recently came out of the Senate Finance Committee and that he’ll try to help push it through. He shares he would like a four year extension, but there’s only a 1 year in the current tax bill.

Grassley adds wind producers and supporters of the tax credit, like himself, agree that a four year phase-out would get the industry to a point where it would be able to stand on its own.
