The Sigourney volleyball team took on North Mahaska last night and won 3-2.

The Savages came out and won set one 25-23, but struggled in the next two, losing set two 25-22 and three 25-23.

Sigourney made a come back and won set four 25-21 to force a fifth and final set that they won 15-6.

Jordan Carter was the leading killer with 26, while Val Magil had 19. Sydney Davis had the hands with 50 assists, Becca Ohland had 28 digs and Brooke Schroeder was 17-17 from the service line with two aces.

Head coach Chris Carter said she was happy with the way her girls came back from being down 2-1.

“We were slow all night, but we did what we had to do to get the win and pulled it together in the end, I was really proud how we played toward the end of the match,” Carter said.

Sigourney is now 7-3 overall
