Even though southeast Iowa received no rainfall last week, the drought conditions remain the same.  The latest information from the National Climatic Data Center continues to show our part of the state as severely dry.  Conditions statewide have improved slightly – with just under two-thirds still being classified as severely dry with far northwest Iowa seeing extreme conditions.

Some relief could be coming to the area later this fall as forecasts are calling for an equal chance of precipitation.  KCII will continue to monitor the drought conditions across southeast Iowa.
