A statewide program started last year is looking for education officials to take part in educational programs.  Governor Terry Branstad’s STEM Advisory Council is offering a “12 STEM Scale Up” program where kids will receive hands-on experiences in math, science, technology and engineering in their community.

This program covers all grades with the cost being paid for by the Advisory Council.  Washington Library Director Debbie Stanton is one of 15 individuals from across southeast Iowa on the council that works in providing leadership and assistance in starting the Governor’s initiative in every school in the state.

Applications for the “12 STEM Scale Up” program are due Thursday and winners will be notified by the first of October.  More information can be found here.
