The Washington Demons take on Mt. Pleasant tonight in their home volleyball opener.

This will mark the first fan attended athletic event held in the brand new gym.

The Demons are 3-5 coming into the match, and haven’t played since last week at the Wapello tournament.

They have 128 kills on the season with a .109 kill efficiency. The Demons also have 31 blocks on the season already.

Mt. Pleasant is 2-4 after a three game losing streak, including to conference opponent Fairfield. The Panthers have 118 kills with a .266 kill efficiency, and 51 blocks this season.

Washington head coach Jeff Spenner says his girls are excited about a lot things tonight, including the fact they get to play in a new gym.

“Always excited about playing Mt. Pleasant, they’re a great team and a great conference rival,” Spenner said. “But also getting to play the first time at our new gym will be a great deal.”
