Surveys have been sent to area businesses as part of a study of a regional economic development partnership. The Iowa Workforce Development’s Regional Research and Analysis Bureau is completing a Laborshed employment study of Washington County.
Ed Raber with the Washington Economic Development Group says the study can be used to match workers with employers already in Washington, or to entice new companies to the area.
Raber says surveys have been sent to county businesses and phone calls to approximately 400 residents will be happening this month to conduct interviews about their employment and where they work. The results will be available later this fall.
