Washington had their home cross country meet last night at the Washington golf and country club.

On the girl’s side of things Washington came in fourth, while Keota was fifth, and for the boys Highland was third and the Demons were fifth.

For the Demon girls, they were led by Mariah Reighard who finished 14th with a time of 17:50. Other scorers behind her were Stephanie Loy in 18th, Kaitlin Buchholz in 25th, Maddie Bohr in 27th and Jennie Green in 35th.

Reighard spoke after her race about how she liked the warmer weather during her run.

“It’s only my second meet back, and it was pretty beautiful today I was kind of happy that it was sunshiney,” Reighard said. “The heat kind of sucks the energy out of you always, but I thought it was a good meet to run, the weather was nice it wasn’t too windy it wasn’t too cold, it was perfect.”

On the Boy’s side Noah Lebsack led the team on his first meet back from injury with a 15th place finish in 17:49. Other scorers were Curtis Vest in 29th, Austin Latchem in 34th, Brandon Rhinhart in 35th and Logan Moeller in 44th.

After his race Lebsack talked about how it felt to get back out and run with the team.

“I would have liked it to be better, but I kind of expected to feel pretty bad afterward,” Lebsack said.
