Winfield- Mt. Union went undefeated at the Southeast Iowa Superconference tournament yesterday and advanced to the finals tomorrow.

WMU beat Cardinal 21-8, 21-18, Harmony21-8, 21-7. They dropped set one to Pekin 21-18, then won 21-18 and 15-8 and beat Notre Dame 21-17 and 21-9.

Alicia Escher and Erica Robinson both had 25 kills on the night, Katie Benson had 67 assists and Anna Crawford had 33 digs for the Wolves.

Head coach Dave Pieart said he thought overall his team played well.

“I thought we played pretty well,” Pieart said. “There was a bit of pressure on us playing at home and coming in as the pool favorite, but I thought we handled that quite well, and we got through a tough match with Pekin and came out undefeated, so I’m quite happy.”

WMU plays Van Buren in round one tomorrow.
