The Winfield -Mt. Union volleyball team grabbed another win last night over Columbus Junction, but the Wildcats put up a fight.

The Wolves won the match in four sets, winning the first and second 25-19, but dropping set three 25-18.

WMU came back to win set four and the match 25-20.

WMU head coach Dave Pieart says it was a win, but there are things to work on.

“Well we got the win, so it was a good night,” Pieart said. “But we were a little erratic on our offense so there are still some things that we can work on today in practice.”

Alicia Escher continues to lead the team in kills with 13 on the night, Katie Benson setup 29 points, and Anna Crawford continues to keep the ball from the floor with 23 digs.

Escher added another multiple ace serve match to her stats as well, having four in this match.

The Wolves are now 6-2 overall, and 2-0 in the conference and play in Wilton on Saturday, while the Wildcats are 2-8 overall and 1-1 in the conference. They play again next week against Lone Tree.
