This week is National 4-H Week and Washington County is continuing to celebrate the 4‑H youth who have made an impact in the community. 4-H County Council member Lexi Marek says one of the leaves of the 4-H represents the heart. She says part of the 4-H pledge is pledging your heart to greater loyalty, club, community and world.
Marek adds being chosen as this year’s Washington County Fair Queen helped her to practice that part of the pledge by having the opportunity to talk with more people.
She says over her time in 4-H, her club, parents and leaders have worked together to expand on the 4-H pledge by helping to make the world a better place.
