Washington County Hospital and Clinics is hosting their annual Seniorfest event from 8:30-11 Saturday morning. Foundation and Marketing Director at Washington County Hospital and Clinics Amy Vetter tells KCII news that the event serves as a community wide health fair for seniors and their caregivers.

Vetter describes that those at WCHC Saturday will see more than 30 vendors in the south lobby showcasing healthcare agencies, hospice and senior housing, senior care providers, community organizations and more. Aside from the number of vendors there will also be practical checks for Seniors including health screenings, free flu shots with Medicare card sponsored by Washington County Public Health and free blood pressure checks performed by WCHC.

Other activities during the day include drawings and entertainment by Lyle Beaver from 10-11:30. Vetter says the goal of the event is to serve as an information hub for seniors and their caregivers about what Washington has to offer to help them lead a more comfortable and prosperous life.

Free transportation is provided by Washington County Ambulance if arranged by the end of the day Friday. The KCII big red radio will also be on hand from 8-10 playing music and making announcements for patrons. If you need more information please call 863-3820
