Mid-Prairie ran at the IMS invite last night, and third in the boys and fifth in the girl’s races.
On the boy’s side Jared Draper finished ninth with a time of 17:47 while Jake O’DOnnell was 10th with a time of 17:47. Other scorers were Ty Feigenspan in 17th, Wyatt Cady in 29th and Zeb Schwartz in 30th.
Draper talked after his run about what he changed at this meet from the last one.
“I think I took my first mile a little bit faster, I used the downhills, I think I left everything I had out on the field,” Draper said.”
The boys had 95 points and finished third.
The girls were led by Mallory McArtor who finished in 15th with a time of 16:37. Other scorers were Tayler Foster in 29th, Hannah VanRoekel in 33rd, Beth Chmelar in 42nd and Summer Gracey in 45th.
Head coach Mark Hostedler talked after the meet about how he felt his teams did.
“The biggest thing is improvement for the year,” Hostedler said, “Last year at this race we ran slower than the time before and this year, everyone except for a couple who have been sick ran a little bit slower, but everyone else ran about 20 seconds faster.”
Mid-Prairie races next at North Linn on Saturday.
