A three vehicle collision in Henry County at noon on Tuesday sent a New London woman and a Fairfield man to the hospital. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 1992 Jeep Cherokee driven by Janet Russell, 51 of New London failed to yield at a stop sign as she entered the westbound lane of Highway 34 from Henry-Des Moines Avenue south of New London. A 1999 Buick Century driven by Ryan Krieger, 18 of Mount Pleasant then struck the vehicle driven by Russell in the right rear. A 1997 Dodge Avenger driven by Kevin Kempf, 45 of Fairfield then broadsided Russell’s vehicle. Both Russell and Kempf were transported to the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Both were wearing seat belts. The accident remains under investigation.
