Future development and highway easements were on the minds of elected county officials yesterday.  During the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting, Ed Raber from the Washington Economic Development Group gave an update on possible upgrades to a site owned by Mid-American Energy at Highway 218 and G36.  He shared that there is plenty of room for growth and is located on an existing gas line.

County Engineer Jacob Thorius talked about three public highway easements.  The county agreed to purchase a little more than two acres of land totaling over $9600.  Thorius also mentioned a new excavator was purchased replacing one bought in 1996.

The Supervisors also agreed to a additional loan agreement of $80,000 with the Regional Utility Service Systems.  A public hearing has been set for Thursday, October 18th at 7:00 in the Washington County Courthouse regarding the 28E agreement for the Richmond/Rubio sewer project.
