Residents of West Chester once again have running water. According to Jeff Soper with the Mt Pleasant and West Chester Water Departments a main broke on Saturday afternoon at Railroad Street and Highway 92. The water was shut off after the mains lost pressure in accordance to DNR requirements. After Soper issued the boil order for the City he took four individual water tests, another DNR obligation. He took two tests the day the main broke and two more when it was confirmed by the Hygienic Lab in Iowa City that there was no contamination. The boil order was lifted yesterday morning.
