The City of Columbus Junction has adopted a resolution approving plans to implement recreational trails around Louisa County. According to Katie Hammond with Louisa County Conservation the Louisa County Comprehensive Trails Master plan is something a group of volunteers have been slowly working on.

Currently they’re going around getting approval from the different cities and groups in the County. She says that having a plan helps improve their chances of getting grants they apply for.

Columbus Junction City clerk Julie Heindal says that approving the resolution shows their support for their plan and adds they will not be asked to contribute financially.
