The Demons football team is back in action tonight for their final game of the regular season when they host Centerville.

Washington has secured a spot into the playoffs that start next week, but a win tonight would give them a home game in round one, and a second place finish in the district.

The Demons are 5-3 and have 1703 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns, while through the air they have 713 yards and seven touchdowns.

Washington has also scored on the first play from scrimmage in their last two games, in the process of scoring 28 or more points in the first quarter.

Centerville is 1-7 after beating Fairfield last week 26-23. They have 1085 yards through the air, and seven touchdowns with six interceptions. Their running game has 768 yards and six touchdowns.

Head coach Randy Shrader said this is a game that no one should take lightly, and if it rains, his team will make adjustments.

“You always worry as a coach, going into a game like this that your kids are going to take the team lightly. What we have to be able to do, is have our coaches on point, our kids on point, just everybody where they need to be, when they need to be there,” Shrader said. “Look at this weather too, I read the paper there and their coach feels that a rainy field would be to their advantage because it would slow it down, I would counter that by saying we’ll just get into a tight-end formation and pound the ball.”
