The drought conditions across Iowa remain, for the most part, unchanged from last week. According to information released by the National Climatic Data Center the majority of southeast Iowa is still in a severe drought.
Most of northern and western Iowa is seeing extreme drought conditions. That area of extreme drought has grown since last week and reaches the northwestern corners of Iowa and Keokuk Counties.
The U.S. Seasonal Drought Outlook map shows that the current drought affecting Iowa, much of the Midwest and the western states will either persist or intensify.
