Even though we received little rainfall in the last week, drought conditions have remained the same across southeast Iowa.  As of Tuesday, October 9th, the latest information from the National Climatic Data Center still shows our part of the state as severely dry with extreme conditions being reported in parts of Keokuk and Iowa counties.

The same trend is happening across Iowa where three-fourths of the state is classified as extremely dry with far northwest Iowa seeing exceptionally dry conditions.

Forecast models are still showing the drought conditions to remain in place until the end of the year.  KCII will continue to monitor the drought conditions across southeast Iowa.
