Mid-Prairie plays their second round playoff game tonight when they travel to Bondurant-Farrar.

The Golden-Hawks had a big win over PCM Monroe on Wednesday, while Bondurant struggled with Louisa-Muscatine.

Mid-Prairie used their running game in the win, and will continue to use it with 1641 yards and 22 touchdowns. Passing is always an option as well with 1206 yards and nine touchdowns, with eight interceptions.

Bondurant is 9-1, but let L-M score 28 points in their first round game. The Blue Jays have a balanced offense, with 2532 rushing yards and 34 touchdowns, and 1734 yards through the air with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Mid-Prairie head coach Pete Cavanagh says his team looks confident, and just needs to keep up what they are doing.

“Control the ball, do the same thing we’ve been doing,” Cavanagh said. “Control the ball, no turnovers, play some defense and win special teams. I like how the kids are playing right now, pretty confident, I think we’re going to have a big crowd, the student section is talking about making the long journey over there, so it’s an exciting time of year, schools buzzing and hopefully we play well for them.”
