All things considered, one Washington County farmer is pleased with this year’s harvest. John Berdo farms over 1,000 acres southwest of Washington, raising cows and pigs and growing corn and soybeans.

Berdo shares that he’s half done with his corn harvest and has seen his yields vary from 30 to 200 bushels an acre. In early August he was concerned with this year’s harvest, but notes he’s satisfied with the average to below average yield.

He adds he just got started with his beans and is happy with what he’s seeing so far.
