A head-on collision that occurred yesterday has taken the life of a Keota woman.According to the Iowa State Patrol, around 11:30 yesterday morning a car driven by 57 year old Paula Marie Lampe of Keota was struck by an asphalt truck driven by 56 year old Danny Lee Noble of New London, while driving eastbound on 190th Street.

The accident occurred when the asphalt truck was attempting to turn into a business driveway. Lampe was transported from the scene by University of Iowa Air Care and was later pronounced dead.

Responding to the scene were the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, West Chester and Wellman First Responders, Wellman and Washington Fire Departments, Washington County Ambulance and Rescue, University of Iowa Air Care, and the Iowa State Patrol. Charges are pending and the accident is still under investigation.
