An Iowa County resident is behind bars today after leading law enforcement on a high speed chase through two counties yesterday afternoon.  According to information from the Washington County Safety Center, a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy was following the vehicle of 21 year old Tyler Devin Myers from Williamsburg through Wellman when he left at a high rate of speed through rural Washington County.  The pursuit ended in Iowa County with Myers being arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Myers has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, two counts of child endangerment, felony eluding, no valid driver’s license, criminal mischief in the second degree, no proof of insurance, nine counts of failure to obey a stop sign, careless driving, reckless driving, driving 107 in a 55 mph zone. Other charges are pending.

Other officers involved in the pursuit were from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington Police Department along with deputies from Keokuk and Iowa Counties.
