The Southeast Iowa Superconference cross country meet was held last night, and it was Highland who came away with the win for the boys.
Highland was led by Matt Eden and Evan Mahler who finished back to back at fourth and fifth with times of 16:39 and 16:45 respectively.
Other Highland scorers were Tucker Hall in seventh, Keiffer Sexton in 14th and Josh Brase in 20th.
They finished with a score of 50, 33 points ahead of second place Mediapolis.
Columbus was fifth, with their lead runners Eli Sents and Efrain Barajas, both coming across the line at 17:11 for 10th and 11th place. Other Wildcat scorers were Mitchell Roush in 26, Josh Keller in 44th and Dalton Howell in 56th.
Columbus had 157 points.
IMS took eighth place at the meet with Cody Miller taking sixth place with a time of 16:49. Kirby Shetler was 15th, Jacob Valov was 47th, Jacob Schmieder was 62nd and Kobi Russom was 85th.
IMS had 215 points, and right behind them with 219 points in ninth was WMU.
The Wolves were led by Kollin Lintz in 22nd, following him was Jonathan Quinn in 29th, Chase Brown in 42nd, Kohlton Heinzel in 61st and Tristin Klopfenstein in 65th.
Lone Tree finishes up the area schools with a 12th place finish at the meet with a score of 324.
Carson Simonsen led the way in 51st, followed by Phillip Parker in 55th, Shay Hudacheck in 66th, Tim Tryon in 74th and Jacob Quigley in 78th.
These teams will get a week to rest and prepare for districts in two weeks.
