IMS hosted the IMS invite last night and finished ninth and 11th.

Miller talked after his race about what he thought the key to his race was.

“I know my first mile I was looking for a 5:40 or so, and I had a 5:37, so that was a pretty strong mile for me, and my second mile, it’s always been the toughest mile in my opinion to always keep that pace, but that first mile was my fastest mile,” Miller said.

The boys finished ninth with a score of 256.

On the girl’s side Renee Buckwalter continued the lead the team with a 24th place finish with a time of 17:17. Other girls on the score sheet were Riley Schmieder in 31st, Camila Segar in 81st, Alvard Mamikonyan in 85th and Summer Schrock in 86th.

Buckwalter talked after her race about her simple strategy about this race.

“Today I just tried to go faster, and I went a little fasters on my first mile, and I just tried to keep that pace through the whole thing,” Buckwalter said.

The girls finished 11th with a score of 275.

Head coach Marty Gingerich talked after the race about strategy and how it has changed.

“Different runners have different goals, we had one runner who had a time she wanted to break, and other people want to be an individual,” Gingerich said. “Some people I talked from other teams tonight have conference this week so they didn’t want to push it too hard, there is just a variety of strategies.”
