The Washington High School Marching Band has brought home honors from different state competitions.  Band Director Don Hughes says a contest was held in Pella on Saturday where the Marching Demons earned a Division II ranking.  Hughes adds out of seven different schools, the band took fifth place at the Waukee Invitational on Saturday as well.

He notes during the annual Davis County Festival of Bands a couple of weeks ago, the band tied for second place with Knoxville.  They were competing with other 3A schools from across Iowa along with 4A Ottumwa and many bands from the smaller 2A class.
