A week to celebrate youth in the community is this week.  Amy Green, Washington County 4‑H/Youth Coordinator says National 4-H Week highlights youth who make impacts in their community.

She says the different parts of 4-H that are taught is to have the youth set goals, help them communicate, reflect on what is learned, make healthy choices and community service.  Also happening this week, the youth are recruiting new members.

Green notes a special day to highlight 4-H is tomorrow where current 4-H members, alumni and those wanting to be a part of 4-H are to wear their favorite 4-H t‑shirt, special 4-H event shirt, or their favorite 4-H green color.

She says it will be a chance to fill the community with 4-H clovers, colors and spirit.  Green notes there are 18 clubs that cover the county.  To become a part of 4-H, contact the Washington County Extension.
