With no rainfall received in the last week, drought conditions have worsened across southeast Iowa.  The latest information from the National Climatic Data Center still shows our part of the state as severely dry as of Tuesday, October 2nd. However extreme conditions are being reported in parts of Keokuk and Iowa Counties.

The same trend is happening across Iowa where three-fourths of the state is classified as extremely dry with far northwest Iowa seeing exceptionally dry conditions.

No change in conditions is expected as forecast models are showing the drought to stick around until the end of the year.  KCII will continue to monitor the drought conditions across southeast Iowa.
