Those at last weekend’s Fall Festival in Kalona may have heard a few good stories from Emily Roberts. This year’s event at the Historical Village had everything you’d expect from a Fall Festival, food, antiques, crafts, old world demonstrations, but it also marked the retirement of the loom house curator, Emily Roberts.

Roberts shares she’s been using a spinning wheel since she was in high school and it’s been a hobby of hers since.

While this was her last year as the curator, she says she’ll continue to attend the festival and may even show off her yarn spinning if she gets the chance.

Chainsaw carvings and auction followed by a talent contest were part of the events on Saturday.  Here are the results:
