The specifications for the proposed levee project in Columbus Junction have been approved. The plans were approved at a public hearing prior to a City Council meeting held in late September.
The City collected bids up until the public hearing and reviewed them at the meeting. City Clerk Julie Heindal says the original cost estimate came in at $534,000 and the lowest bid for the project was around $308,000.
The Council will consider entering into an agreement with the lowest bidder, Cole Construction, at tomorrow meeting.
