Two local schools are in the running for money to be used to improve education.
U.S. Cellular’s Calling All Communities campaign awards schools with the most votes a share of 1 million dollars.
Voting is about halfway through and the carrier has announced the 100 schools with the most votes. Iowa Mennonite School came in at 27, while Keota High School came in at number 68 out of the almost 900 schools participating.
The school that receives the most votes gets $150,000, and the next 17 schools will each receive $50,000. Voting ends on October 21st.
Anyone over the age of 18 can go to a U.S. Cellular location to request their schools code to vote at uscellular.com. You can then check back to see your school ranking, see the top schools, get ideas to rally more votes and post photos. The official rules can be found at uscellular.com/callingallcommunities.
