A Washington business that caused a chemical spill in April has agreed to pay a penalty with the Department of Natural Resources.  In a story previously reported on KCII, a report of a strong chemical odor and milky white color in a neighborhood stream prompted an investigation where the source was traced to a spill at the Liqui-Grow fertilizer plant.

The spill eventually led to the South Fork of Long Creek in southeast Washington.  The company estimated that at least 400 to 500 gallons of rinse water reached the creek.

According to information from the Department of Natural Resources, a consent order was voluntarily entered into where Liqui-Grow will pay a $10,000 penalty for the spill.
