Washington County will soon have another vehicle to help combat possible snowstorms this winter. According to County Engineer, Jacob Thorius, they did some price checking at local dealerships and decided to go with a 3500 Chevy Silverado from Gretters for around $32,000.

The 1 ton pickup with a flat bed and duel wheels on the back has been ordered and is currently being built. He says it will be used to tamp and backfill pipe, haul material and plow intersections this winter.

The truck will replace their 1988 Ford pickup. Thorius says it’s always been a County truck and along with high miles it recently had its transmission go out. He says instead of putting more back into it, they decided to invest in a new vehicle.
