Winfield-Mt.Union and WACO face off tonight in one of the last conference volleyball matches for the two teams.

WMU is 23-7 and averages 9.87 kills per set, with 260 aces on the season and a .912 serve efficiency.

WACO is 3-14 averaging 3.91 kills per set with a kill efficiency of .024 and 9.62 digs.

WMU head coach Dave Pieart says it’s been awhile since WMU has seen WACO, and there could be some extra meaning to this game.

“It’s a rivalry game, the WACO and Winfield- Mt. Union schools districts tend to get up for each other, and we’re going to be playing on their home court,” Pieart said. “I don’t know, but I would kind of anticipate that at this late date it will be their senior night, which is extra motivation. Other than that we really haven’t seen them, we’ve only been in the same place at the same time once and we really didn’t get a chance to see them. It’s going to catch us a little bit by surprise, and it’s been a whole year since we’ve seen them play.”

WMU and WACO play tonight at WACO, with first serve around 7:30.
