The Washington County Communication Commission is requesting input from subscribers to an alarm system, which is becoming outdated. The county 9-1-1 Supervisor Cara Sorrells says that the Omegalarm system provides emergency alert help mostly to Washington County businesses. But because of recent errors with the system, the commission is considering replacing the unit or removing it altogether. If it were removed, then the alarm subscribers would have the alerts sent to the emergency responders through a third party. Replacement would cost about 35-hundred dollars.
