A range of numbers about the Washington Community School District are together in an annual report. Curriculum Director Veta Thode says that one number that stands out is the dropout rate. Last year’s number when compared to the year before went up about 2.6%.

But Thode says some of those students had already previously dropped out, and were asked to take part in a new online program called Bridgewater.  Thode says although it did work to turn around the prospects for some students who dropped-out, many of them did not succeed in their second attempt.

Thode says that the district is researching other programs that have the same goal to see if one fits better with Washington students.
