A man appointed to the Washington City Council last year will remain in the seat after getting the approval of the city’s ward three voters. Bob Shellmyer was chosen by the council to fill a vacant seat formerly held by Mike Roth.  Roth had decided not to seek reelection, but no candidates signed up to run in the 2011 race.  After about a  year in the position, Shellmyer was elected Tuesday by getting more votes than challenger Tom Bowler.
