At 2am tomorrow the hour we gained on the second Sunday in March will be wiped away. While you’re changing the clocks back an hour for the end of Daylight Saving Time, Washington Fire Chief Tom Wide says it’s also a good idea to change the battery in your smoke detector.
He says while battery quality has improved since the trend started it’s still a good practice to change them in the spring and in the fall.
He says other things you can do this time of year to keep your family safe through the winter months is to have your furnace checked out by a technician and to have your chimney inspected.
