After a number of delays, the trial of a Riverside man accused of murder begins this week. Originally set for January 24th of this year, Thomas Lee Hansen’s first-degree murder trial began today at the Washington County Courthouse. The trial had been rescheduled for October 8th, but the judge granted Hansen a continuance. According to Washington County Attorney, Larry Brock, jury selection is expected to last the entire day, but they could get to opening statements. Hansen is accused of shooting 54 year old Sharon Kay Gerot on May 1st of last year.
