One local farmer is displeased by how the federal government is handling the Farm Bill. Congress needs to either extend the 2008 Farm Bill that expired in September or approve an updated version.

Washington County farmer Jim Cuddeback says he’s disappointed with both the Legislative and Executive Branch’s handling of the matter and adds he doesn’t expect additional assistance for farmers.

He explains that while the Farm Bill is large, about 80% of it goes to food giveaways in the form of food stamps and free and reduced price school lunches.
