The Mid-Prairie wrestling team picked up the 2012-2013 season right where they left off sweeping a triangular meet Tuesday night against Wapello and English Valleys. Mid-Prairie first took on the Wapello Indians winning 45-36. Following the five lowest weight classes Mid-Prairie had a tall hill to climb trailing 24-6 with the lone win coming from Ryan Errthum by forfeit at 106. The dual belonged to the Hawks from 138 on up as Mid-Prairie was 8-1 in contested matches in those weight classes
including falls recorded by Jacob Adrian at 145, Phirom Peterschmidt at182, Nearoth Peterschmidt at 195 and Ben Fiordalise at 220.

The second match up of the night saw Mid-Prairie dominate host English Valleys 49-24. It was all Golden Hawks early as Mid-Prairie jumped out to a 23-0 lead after the first five bouts on the strength of falls from Cody Mason at 195 and Ben Fiordalise at 285. The Golden Hawks also finished the dual strong taking two of the last three matches by pin as Jacob Adrian at 145 and Miguel Sanchez at 152 each put their opponent’s shoulders to the mat. Mid-Prairie wrestling is now 2-0 on the season and will next be in action at the Jeremy Fulk Classic in New London Saturday.
