Mid-Prairie and Highland tied in their half of basketball last night at the Jamboree 26-26.
The Golden hawks were led by a couple of players with Dayton Hall and Reid Miller both scoring six points.
Mid-Prairie head coach Chris Kern said he thought his teams offense show a lot of life in the game,
“We definitely want to get some continuity on our offense and I think at times we had some good looks, we missed a lot of shots that I thought were good shots,” Kern said. “Overall I was pleased offensively with what we wanted to get accomplish tonight offensively.”
Highland was led by Talon McFarland who had 12 points, followed by Josh Brase with seven.
Highland head coach Marcus Hall said he thought shooting was good for a few stretches, but he would have liked to have seen more confidence.
“We’re trying to find the right shooters in rhythm, and understanding shooting a ball with confidence is a big part of the battle, and I think we settled in a little bit,” Hall said. “It’s the first time since we’ve hit the floor, and the first time we’re playing against someone else so I think there were some jitters there early, and for a stretch there I think we found some guys in transition.”
Highland starts play on Monday against Harmony, while Mid-Prairie opens up play on Tuesday against Washington.
