There’s no shortage of hunting seasons in southeast Iowa as we near the end of November. Wesley Gould with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says right now hunters are taking part in the fur bearer and trapping season if they’re not hunting deer. He adds that the majority of hunters are chasing deer with their bows as the rut hits its peak for the year. Gould says that we’re nearing the first shotgun season, which starts Saturday, December 1st. Other seasons currently open include rabbit, squirrel and crow.
