An area school learned today that they would be the recipient of a large sum of money.

U.S. Cellular announced today that Iowa Mennonite School came in 7th out of almost 900 schools participating in the Calling All Communities campaign.

The contest awards schools with the most votes from members of their community a share of 1 million dollars. IMS will be receiving $50,000 to improve technology on their campus due to their community’s effort.

School secretary Mary Lou Gingerich says that at 11 today the school assembled to watch the results come in live on U.S. Cellular’s website. The results were presented by President and CEO of U.S. Cellular, Mary Dillon.
