An informational meeting on floodplain insurance is being held in Kalona tomorrow. At last weeks meeting the Floodplain Management Ordinance was made effective after the City Council waived the third reading.

City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh shares that tomorrow Fishers Insurance of Kalona and Freedom Security Bank will hold a meeting at 7pm to talk about floodplain insurance and the costs associated. Anybody in the community interested in attending should RSVP with Fisher Insurance of Freedom Security Bank.

Schlabaugh says this is something the businesses have wanted to do for their customers since discussions on the Ordinance began. He adds he’ll also be present to help answer questions.
